Teeth Whitening Foods So You Can Eat Your Way to a Brighter Smile

Brilliant news: Eating certain foods can totally help with your teeth whitening endeavours. Yep. Eating can brighten your smile. We thought you’d like that pick-me-up on a Monday. But really, what are the chances? Our favorite pastime is not just physically good for us, but cosmetically beneficial, too. This is fantastic. Clearly we’ve done something right in a past life. So what are these dentally magic foodstuffs?

Here are the six delicious teeth whitening edibles you should probably get nibbling on.

1. Cheese

How overjoyed are we. This was irrefutably our favourite discovery of all of the teeth whitening foods. The brie! The camembert! The racletteeeeeeeee. It’s too much to handle. Whatever form of fromage is your catnip, you can thank its inherent protein and calcium content for keeping your smile oh-so-bright.

2. Yoghurt

The thing that muesli is not complete without, yoghurt, should become your beloved breakkie/brunch staple for its dental health properties. In addition to protein and calcium, this bad boy’s got probiotics up the Wazoo, so as long as you avoid the super sugary forms, you’re gums and gnashers shall be shiny and white.

3. Apples

Fibre, fructose, and a healthy dose of wardah (water), apples are God’s gift to your fangs. These delicious balls of tangy crunch are perfect for naturally scraping off any pesky food particles that could cause tartar build-up and ruin your pearly white smile.

4. Carrots

The fourth teeth whitening gem is the humble carrot. Much like the aforementioned apple, carrots are the savoury counterparts that help to remove naughty causes of plaque. And they’re great for your peepers, too.

5. Celery

This veggie is one of those fabulous vegan creations that expends more energy consuming it than it contains. That is, you burn more calories eating it. Genius. Oh and it’s great for teeth whitening. So there’s that.

6. Salad

The dark green, leafy veggies in your salad are full of folic acid and calcium, meaning they’re yet another nutritious food that strengthens and protects your teeth from caries. Whiter teeth, here we come!
